Hiking Practice, Anyone

We spent the next few days hiking. We visited a Salmon hatchery that was closed but let you wonder around. The Salmon have not started running yet but they have started coming into the fresh water. We wandered down the road and found several hanging out under the railroad tracks. Debbie’s interpretation of the story that she got was that they are waiting for a change in the weather which is a signal to swim upstream.

We also hiked some beautiful trails which are A) flat and B) shady. These are two of Debbie’s big requirements. The Quailcom Beach had a beach and shady hiking trails. This is also the point that we found our first geocache. We practiced all around the island and enjoyed it immensely.

If you visit Victoria Island, consider hiking.
